At Sun Shrimp when we harvest our shrimp they go from living to deep chilled within seconds after harvest, and then quickly processed. This means that bacteria never got a chance to start breaking down the shrimp, thus no dips or chemicals, bleaches or preservatives are ever used or needed.
Sun Shrimp are grown in some of the cleanest unspoiled, uncontaminated waters found on our planet today. By using a clean, sustainable source, we are able to produce some of the cleanest, wholesome and delicious shrimp in America.
American consumers prefer de-headed and cleaned shrimp. This leaves us with many heads, which represents nearly 50% of the whole shrimp! Thousands of pounds that we need to get rid of. We have discovered that Sun Shrimp heads are one of the best baits around for our local crab fishermen.
