Two days to ship, but they arrived in good condition. Very nice tasting, basically the same as good gulf shrimp. They are small compared to what I'm used to, but I was spoiled, living on the Big Island, near the Kona shrimp farm, which produces giant shrimps for local trade. Once you get them in your mouth, it doesn't much matter, does it?

My overall experience was great. I love the way they are vacuum sealed and packaged to use a few or a lot. They tasted fine and so far I’ve made boiled cocktail shrimp and shrimp jambalaya. I love the idea of supporting a new shrimp industry on Pine Island in Florida. While at my condo on Ft. Myers Beach ( now under repair…) we always got shrimp from Trico. We miss them terribly, and are glad to find an alternative. Two things to mention, however: The shrimp arrived in a styrofoam container that literally broke apart when I took it out of the cardboard box. And there was NO dry ice left to keep the shrimp chilled. It’s a good thing I opened it RIGHT AWAY , as the shrimp were starting to thaw. I do not think the travel time from FL to Michigan was two days, as was projected… I’m wondering if you are limited to the size you can grow or culture your shrimp. They seemed smaller than “ jumbo”. Although, truthfully, we used to get “ colossal” from Trico. I guess I have to learn the ins and out of this new shrimp cultivating business you’ve been so brave to begin! We recently hosted a "Cream Can" party and included Sun Shrimp in the contents and it could not have been a bigger hit!! The shrimp tasted delicious and disappeared in a hurry. We are familiar with farm raised shrimp from a previous association with a shrimp farm in Texas several years ago which is no longer in operation so when we came across Sun Shrimp, we were thrilled! Love the flavor and the service is great! Will definitely be a repeat customer!
