Our whole Jumbo shrimp are vacuum packed to retain maximum freshness. Give your next meal incredible flavor and a beautiful presentation. Jumbo shrimp are about 180 days old and are cultured without the use of any chemicals. No preservatives and no antibiotics are ever used. The tail is sweet, clean flavor, and has a firm, crispy texture.
One 8oz. (1/2 pound) package contains 6 or 7 jumbo whole shrimp. The product is frozen in order to maintain maximum freshness.

The Sun Shrimp company has outstanding company service and most importantly they produce an outstanding product. These farm-raised shrimp put other fresh overnight shipped shrimp (that were caught in ocean) to shame. There is no comparison. The shrimp arrived ice cold and packaged in multiple pre-packed smaller packages which is ideal if you do not want to cook all of them at once and wish to freeze some for later use. These were steamed up in a bit of Old Bay with fresh corn on the cob and new potatoes. Best dinner I had in my land locked state of New Mexico in a long long time! Thank you Sun Shrimp!

The shrimp are firm, sweet, and delicious. I sauteed the whole head on shrimps along with scallops and a sliced calamari steak in olive oil, chopped onion, chopped garlic, a coriander & annatto seasoning and a saffron seasoning then served on top of a Spanish style saffron yellow rice.

My order arrived perfectly. I live in California, so the shipment had to make is across the country. The meticulously packed shrimp were still frozen solid. I decided to try one package immediately by slowly defrosting then poaching for a few minutes is plain salted water to get the true flavor of the shrimp. The texture was tender-firm. Absolutely no mushiness that you get from store bought shrimp, especially with head-on shrimp. The Sun Shrimp were clean tasting with a hint of sweetness. No fishy flavor or smell whatsoever. For those who don't have access to wild live or never-been-frozen freshly harvested shrimp from clean ocean waters, or even if you want to keep a supply of great shrimp at the ready in the freezer, Sun Shrimp are a fantastic choice. The quality and the care that is taken in raising, processing, packaging and shipping are all top notch.
